Selefest '04 was a resounding success, with many acts gaining huge support. Doubtless the main things were happening in the Skateboard and Blading competition, with some amazing local talent being shown.
Steven English (14) of Hexham, won the skateboarding competition with a brilliant 'bung-in' off the railing of the quarterpipe. This entailed him jumping into the quarterpipe on his board.
Winner of the Blading competition was Michael Gregory, also of the Hexham area. The competition was widely watched as Micheal, Peter Gregory and Tom English performed huge acrobatic tricks including (but not limited to) 180 degree frontflips, backflips and 540 degree frontflips.
Band highlights included Hexham's The Flicks and Freerunner of Newcastle. DJ Matman also provided some excellent music for the events.
Other acts which were a success was the acrobatics of Fairy Fire and the Terpsichore Hip Hop dancers.
